Ceramics – Pottery
Being a maker enables a visual vocabulary to the emotions. Since Graduating from Falmouth University with BA (Hons) Contemporary Crafts Cheryl has been drawn to the organic qualities of clay, especially porcelain for its translucence, and the fragile appearance that belies its strength. Previously working with slip cast porcelain, her new work is now hand-built with textured clays. This method has a more organic feel and is a very meditative process. Her latest body of work is inspired by nature.
